Sukhna Lake

Sukhna lake is a rain-fed lake constructed by chief engineer P L Verma in 1958. This is an artificial man-made lake with incredible scenic views. You can enjoy boating here which is the main attraction. The radius of sukhna lake is approximately 5 km.

Rock garden

The rock garden in Chandigarh is near the sukhna lake. The area of this garden is approx 40 acres. The garden is unique as it is entirely constructed with waste plastics and thrown-away items. The Garden was constructed in 1957. People from around the world visit here every year to see this garden.

Rose garden

Rose garden is a botanical garden with various plantations. Also, you will find several varieties of rose and medicinal plants here. This garden is also known as Zakir Hussain garden and was constructed in 1967 under the guidance of M S Randhawa.

Chhatbir Zoo

Chhatbir Zoo was opened in 1970 and has a large variety of birds and animals. The zoo is situated in Zirakpur which is 30 minutes from the main Chandigarh city. Chhatbir Zoo is also known as Mahendra Chaudhary zoological park. The zoo also offers safaris. The zoo is at a distance of 17 kms from Chandigarh.

To cover Sukhna lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden, and Chhatbir Zoo you will need at least one and a half-day.
