Himachal tourism introduces a Glass roof train (vista dome) from kalka to Shimla. Now its even more of a amazing and adventurous journey from kalka to Shimla especially during rainy and winter season. Kalka to Shimla railway track  total distance is about 96 km where 103 tunnels and more then 864 bridges. Train pass from one mountain to another mountain through beautiful landscape view. Vistadome train has a 5 hours journey from kalka to Shimla. On the way to Shimla the glass roof train stops at major railway stations like Dharampur, Broagh, Kandaghat, Solan and Taradevi.

Vistadome train is the 36 seater currently and may be increased in future. To book this train you have to go on IRCTC website and the ticket will be 500 rupees per person. This is a clever step from Himachal tourism to engage the tourism in  the state. Kalka to shimla railway track already comes under the UNESCO heritage since 2008. The track is more than 100 years old and it was built by the Britishers during their reign.
