To go kinnaur you have to come first shimla which is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and from shimla it will take 6 hours to reach kinnaur. Chitkul

chitkul is a beautiful village surrounded by high snow clad mountains. There is also a Baspa river near the village and here you will observe the mountains, river and village areas all in single frame. Chitkul is the last village of India and from chitkul China border is only 11 km. Here you will easily find the descent accommodations with cheap rate. In Chitkul you will see beautiful houses of local people made in traditional woolen architecture style which are perfect for the winter seasons. The nearby stations from chitkul is Sangla which also a famous spot and from Sangla to chitkul it will take one hour only.

Sangla

Sangla is beautiful town in kinnaur district. Sangla is situated near the Baspa river and the town is surrounded by forest slopes and offers serene view of snow peak mountains. Sangla valley is agricultural valley where you will find Apple, Apricot and Wall nut orchards. The most significant achievement of sangla valley is that it offers the best quality Apple to the date in India. In Sangla valley there is lots of small villages like Chitkul, Rakcham, Kamru and many more which have their own magnificent beauty. Sangla valley will be closed in winter time therefore summer time is the best time to visit.

Rakcham

Rakcham village is in sangla valley kinnaur which is the another inhabited village. This is the small village located at the height of 3000 mtrs. Mostly all the villages in kinnaur district situated near the rivers because of scarcity of cultivated land. People here totally depends on agriculture. and cattle. They breed sheep for wool and cows for milk.

Nako

Nako is the village situated at an elevation of 3,625 meters. Nako is 117 km from kalpa the main town which take 4 hours to reach. In nako the attraction is Nako lake which is in-between the village surrounded by the thick forest Buddhist temple near the Nako lake. Nako is at the end of kinnaur district near the China border. There is only home stay available. In winters Nako village gets separated from outer world due to heavy snowfall.

Kalpa

Kalpa is the small town near the Sutlej river. Capital Shimla to Kalpa will take 7 hours to reach which is 270 km. Kalpa is famous for Apple orchards and this is the major cash crop here. Here you will see lots of Buddhist and Hindu temples. Kalpa is situated at the height of 2,970 meters. In kalpa there are many places to visit like Kothi and Reckong peo. Also there is a track famous for Kailash mountaineering.
