Toy Train Shimla

Shimla Toy train was built in 1898 to connect the Shimla from another part of India. This time Shimla is the summer capital of India that’s why it’s built. This is approximately 85 km route from Kalka and it had 107 tunnels and 865 bridges. To make this project in 18<sup>th</sup> century it’s such a very difficult task. Mr. H.S. Herlington was chief engineer of this project during the time of British rule. This track is located at 7,116 feet on Himalayan ranges. Train will take 6 hours to reach Shimla from Kalka. From the window of the train you can see awesome view the Himalayan ranges, jungles, beautiful sceneries, small villages with his traditions architect.  Small train running on the top of the mountain feels you exited to do this journey. People from all over the world come here to enjoy this route.

In 2007 Himachal government declares the railway Heritage property and this is also the part of World heritage site. Toy train booked only from IRCTC website
